NPC Territory Manager

The NPC Territory Manager¬†is responsible for expanding the faction’s territory.

When creating a new NPC Manager object using the RTS Engine menu. The NPC Territory Manager is a component of the new NPC Manager’s “NPCResourceManagers” child object.

  1. Centers: Drag and drop the building prefabs with a Border component that you want the NPC faction to use as the main center buildings. If the NPC Manager that this component belongs to is supposed to be used for different NPC types or different faction types then you can have buildings that play for those different types in this list because they will be filtered once this component is initialized (meaning only the buildings that fit the faction type and NPC type will be activated and used by the NPC faction). Make sure that buildings in this list have their regulator data correctly defined.
  2. Expand On Demand: Can other components request to expand the faction’s territory?
  3. Territory Ratio (between 0.0 and 1.0): Defines the ratio of the target faction’s territory size to the total size of the map. The map’s size can be defined in the Terrain Manager.
  4. Expand Reload Range: How often does this component checks whether to expand the faction’s territory or not.
