Audio Manager

The Audio Manager is the component that handles playing sound effects and music loops during the game.

When creating a new map using the RTS Engine menu, this component is attached to an object called ‘GameManager’.

  1. Music: Audio clips for music loops to be played during the game.
  2. Play Music On Start: Play the music audio clips as soon as the game starts?
  3. Music Volume: Default music loop volume.
  4. Music Volume Slider: UI Slider that allows to modify the music loop’s volume. In the “On Value Changed” event of the Slider component, drag and drop the gameobject that has this AudioManager component attached to it as the event source and set the event to “AudioManager” -> “OnMusicVolumeSliderUpdated”.
  5. Music Audio Source: AudioSource component responsible for playing the music audio clips.
  6. Global SFX Audio Source: AudioSource component that plays the global sound effects during the game.
  7. SFX Volume: Default volume of the audio clips that play from the Global SFX Audio Source and from local audio sources.
  8. SFX Volume Slider: UI Slider that allows to modify the music loop’s volume. In the “On Value Changed” event of the Slider component, drag and drop the gameobject that has this AudioManager component attached to it as the event source and set the event to “AudioManager” -> “OnSFXVolumeSliderUpdated”.
